Hunting season starts October until February in the Gulf area since the height of Partridge and Pheasant migration. Falcons spend the winter not in cages but rather an exclusive room with separate places for the food and water for each. If incase the bird had changed its feathers its brought out and trained again because it may have returned to its wild instincts which has to be tamed. While its kept if, the feathers are not shed for fears of fractures that are difficult to mend.

Hunting grounds changed in recent years, decades ago Iraq and Iran offered the landscape perfect for hunting with abundance of prays. Pakistan appeared as an alternative and extended to include Arabian countries in North Africa such as Egypt and Morocco.
The joy of hunting trips is enormous; it is a retreat from the daily routine a chance to experience the wilderness and that of the thrill of the hunt. Europeans camp out for weeks in hunting trips and do not hesitate to spend a considerable some of money.

A camp is set up with heavy equipments and all the food, fuel and supplies needed. From there groups head out with their falcons on 4-wheel drive vehicles going on as far as their supplies and fuel allows hunting down hares, houbara bustard and stone curlew or anything it lays its claws on. At the end of the season, the falconers decide which is worthy of keeping and which to let go. Its customary to give followers and friends falcons even the dear ones to the owner by doing so it's a sign of appreciation.
